I’ve met Finn Sigil and 2Hollis before. I’ve talked with them both a few times in fact, but admittedly, I’ve talked with Finn Sigil more. There’s no really important reason for this, except that I think Finn Sigil and I are pretty similar people in many ways. 2Hollis is very, very nice and like Finn Sigil, I have nothing but praise and adoration for them both as people, and as artists.
I was originally going to write a longer-form think piece about them, or a kind of interview, but the more I thought about doing that, the more I realized it simply would not work. This isn’t because it has or has not been done before—I wish these two guys all the positive think pieces and productive interviews in the world. However, Finn Sigil and 2Hollis, when we’ve talked, we’ve admittedly primarily conversed about movies. Finn Sigil is a cinephile, and I believe 2Hollis is as well. They are both very good friends of each other, and so even though I know less about 2Hollis’ preferences in movies, I would like to offer up this list to them both in equal part. I endorse every film on here.
I’ve recommended movies to Finn Sigil with some real regularity over the time I’ve known him, for which he has been nothing in return but shown how endearing, grateful, and kind he has been to me. I believe he has great taste in movies. I also know these two enough to understand that they are both very busy people. As such, I believe that in lieu of a more formal write-up of either of them, or them both as a pair, I would like to do something much closer to home. Below are forty-eight films I’ve curated which I highly recommended to both of them this Halloween season.
And, to Finn—I believe I’ve mentioned some of these films previously to you before. Take your time, because of course, there is no rush with these. I hope the road has treated you both well, and continues to do so. Of course, a very real thank you to Finn Sigil for allowing me to write about you and your compatriots with your blessing. I apologize for this being less than standard issue; consider this a tour gift, from me.
Enjoy your scares, guys. I sincerely hope these films I’ve selected can provide for you half as much for you as they have given to myself and all I know who have loved them.
